Stewardship Message:  There are many things we all can think and do as stewards.  There are many scriptures that give us guidance on how to unlock keys to faithful giving  ( I Cor. 4:2).  Webster's definition of Stewardship: the conducting, supervising or managing of something, the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care.  Christian stewardship is a way of living in which we recognize that everything belongs to God.  Church stewardship is discipleship accountable to God for all things.

Sunday School:  We hope you had a summer filled with wonderful memories to take back to school with you!  As the 2010-2011 school year begins, so does our Sunday School Program.  We invite you and your friends to join us on Sunday, September 12 at 10am for our first class.  Children of all ages are welcome to join us in learning about God in an exciting and entertaining, large-group environment.  Following the Worship Service and Sunday School, food and fun will be provided in the Fellowship Hall.  We look forward to seeing your smiling faces.  In God’s Love, Charlotte Gillen, Sunday School Coordinator

Missions & Social Concerns:  On behalf of the Board of Missions and Social Concerns, we would like to thank the congregation for their generous donations to our school supply collection box.  Thanks to your overwhelming support, no child in our community will be without the materials needed to start off the school year. God bless you all!

Moola for Milk Campaign:  The Salvation Army will be collecting funds to support their milk coupons distributed at food shelves in Polk County.  Last year we provided over 13,000 gallons of milk to families in need in our area.  This year’s effort is especially important due to the increased demand at our local food shelves and the rising cost of milk.  Funds are being collected during the month of September.  Please consider supporting this valuable program. Thank you for helping!  Because of people like you, more children will be able to have milk with their meals.

Pies Needed for the Amery Fall Festival:  The time has come for our annual chicken & biscuit dinner for the Amery Fall Festival. Once again we are in need of at least 50 pies. If you can help donate pies, please fill out the signup sheets in the “Know Your Neighbor” pads. Please don’t bring frozen pies to the church, only fully prepared pies please! Your generosity is greatly appreciated!  Please contact Brian Stine if you have any questions.

Chicken & Biscuits:  Please check the sign-up sheets in the narthex for opportunities to help with the Fall Festival meal.

No Bake Sale:  We are happy to report that the August ‘No Bake Sale’ collected $971.25.  Even though the ‘No Bake Sale’ is over, we are still happy to accept any contributions so graciously offered.  Thank you for your generosity.  Women’s Fellowship.

Attention All Singers – Church Choir Needs You!!  It’s that time again…another choir season is starting up. The choir is open to all adults and high school students.  Church choir is for everyone who wants to praise God and make a joyful noise to the Lord – no audition necessary!  The choir rehearses Wednesday evenings 7:15 – 8:00pm.  The choir sings two Sundays a month plus a few special services September through May.  Choir is in desperate need of new members.  Over the past few years many of our choir members have graduated, moved away, or retired and new members are needed if choir is going to be able to continue.  Everyone’s schedule is hectic, but singing with a fun group of people might be a relaxing break from everyday routine.  The first rehearsal will be Wednesday, September 8 at 7:15pm in the church sanctuary.  Please join with us!!  If you have questions, please call Chris Lindee 268-2658.

Sunday Worship Service Time:  Next week we go back to the 10:00 am Sunday Worship Service.  Please note that beginning September 12, 2010 our Sunday Worship Service will begin at 10:00 AM.  This time will continue every Sunday until June 5, 2011 when it will begin at 9:00 AM.
