                    OUTREACH MINISTRIES

"Food Distribution"

Polk County Christians in Action (CIA)--This is a unique opportunity to participate in a one-of-a-kind program that meets the basic needs of everyone in our community.  A truckload of wholesome food, --including fresh fruits, vegetables, breads and more, is available on the 2nd Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. at the Congregational Church.  To help minimize costs, a $10. donation per family is requested.  There are no income requirements. If you eat, you qualify !

"Car Care" Ministry

Car Care Ministry -provides a community service that is unlike any other.  Each second Saturday of the month, local mechanics volunteer their time at Amery's Priority Sales to repair vehicles for those who can't afford it on their own.   If you enjoy the gentle hum of a finely tuned engine, join this group of like-minded individuals and share your knowledge of automobile mechanics for a great cause. We also help with securing a vehicle for those that cannot afford one.

Stephen Ministries

Stephen Ministry is a caring, confidential one-to-one ministry to individuals in our congregation and community who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. Stephen Ministers undergo 50 hours of specialized training in providing emotional and spiritual care.

Fellowship Groups

If you want to be involved, we need you ! Choose from a variety of ways to better know your church friends as well as reach out to the community at large through "fun raising" groups such as:

  • Sunday morning coffee & Fellowship

  • Women's Circles

  • Quilt Makers

  • Handi-Crafts

Youth Mission Trips

Habitat for Humanity

Each summer, our congregation members sponsor a youth mission trip to help build a home for a deserving family through the Habitat for Humanity organization. Youth and chaperones alike are always eager to share the benefits of this life-changing experience.  Get involved ..if you can hold a hammer, you can help !

"WOW"

Worship on Wednesdays  at 6:30 p.m.
for a 45 minute worship service

—Worship on Wednesdays is for all ages, Adults, Children, Youth

—Worship on Wednesdays is contemporary, in music, style, & content.

—Worship on Wednesdays just might be what you’ve been looking for.

· Have you ever found yourself with weekend plans which took you away from Amery and your home Church?

· Have you just “blown off” church because your weekend was taken  up with work schedules?

       · Have you wanted some kind of different worship experience?

Worship on Wednesdays will be taking a theme, usually for a month, that has been suggested by our members as the basis for the worship services.  Each week we will look at this theme from the perspective of:

1) What does the Bible say about the theme;

2) How does this topic impact me, and how do I impact this theme; 3)

We will consider how the church of Jesus Christ might, should, or could impact the topic.

Plan now to join us for this new, energetic, contemporary, relevant, and exciting worship experience.
